1,629 MW Electricity To Be Connected To National Transmission Line Within Next Fiscal Year

Within the next fiscal year 2078/79, 1,629 MW of electricity will be connected to the national transmission line from the projects being constructed by the government and the private sector. Upper Tamakoshi, Rasuwagadhi, Rahughat and other projects under construction with government investment and projects being constructed by the private sector will be completed and transmit the electricity within the next fiscal year.

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2078/79, has allocated a total budget of Rs. 121.97 billion for the energy sector.  The government has also given special priority to the construction of semi-reservoir and reservoir projects. The budget has included the issue of fully electrifying 43 districts within the next fiscal year.

The energy efficiency program has been included and the program of providing free electricity connection to the houses of needy citizens has also been included, said the finance mininster.
