Bhutan has announced a nationwide lock-down for prevention against the corona virus. The Bhutanese government has said that one of the returnees was diagnosed with corona infection.

Bhutan currently has a population of about 750,000. All schools, offices and businesses in Bhutan have been closed following a government order.

Stating that all infected people will be identified and isolated during the lockdown period, the government is confident that this will break the chain of transmission of the virus. A 27-year-old woman who returned from Kuwait was sent home on mandatory quarantine and re-examined on Monday.

The government suspects that she has visited various places in Bhutan. Bhutan, a tourism-dependent country, banned the entry of a foreign tourist in March after a US tourist was confirmed to be in a corona.
