Chilime Hydropower Reports Slight Rise In Profit | Annualized EPS At Rs. 9.62 [Q3 Report]

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has published the third-quarterly report of F.Y. 2079/80. Based on the unaudited report, the company’s net profit increased slightly as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the nine months period, CHCL earned Rs 52.89 crores this year, up from Rs 52.20 crores of the corresponding period of the previous year.

The revenue from sales of electricity stood at  Rs. 80.42 crores which is slightly lower than Rs 82.34 crores of the corresponding period of the previous year.

The paid-up capital has grown by 7.5 percent to Rs. 7.25 Arba due to the issue of bonus shares from the profit of last year. The reserves of the company have declined to Rs. 3.13 Arba.

With the stable net profit and an increase in capital, the EPS has fallen to Rs. 9.62. The company has per share net-worth of Rs. 143.23. The liquidity ratio stands at 16.99 times.

The revenue of the Chilime Hydropower is expected to grow after it’s subsidiary companies start producing electricity. At current, Chilime Hydropower is developing 4 hydropower projects with the total capacity of 270.3 Megawatts: Upper and Lower Sanjen, Rasuwagadhi and Madhya Bhotekoshi.

Chilime Project produces 22.1 MW electricity and is located in Rasuwa district. The annual energy generation from the plant Chilime Hydropower is about 150 GWh.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) holds 51 percent shares of Chilime Hydropower while the general public possess 49 percent shares including 10 percent of local people.
