Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has published the third-quarter report of F.Y. 2077/78. Based on the unaudited report, the company’s net profit declined by almost 3 percent until the third quarter. In the nine months period, CHCL earned Rs 51.02 crores this year, down from Rs 52.56 crores of the corresponding period of the previous year.
The revenue from sales of electricity stood at Rs. 80.92 crores which is slightly higher than Rs 80.37 of the corresponding period of the previous year.
The paid-up capital has grown by 10 percent to Rs. 6.28 Arba due to the issue of bonus shares from the profit of last year. The reserves of the company have declined by almost 10 percent to Rs. 3.67 Arba.
With the decline in net profit and an increase in capital, the EPS has fallen to Rs. 10.83. The company has per share net-worth of Rs. 158.47. The liquidity ratio stands at 11.79 times.
The revenue of the Chilime Hydropower is expected to grow after it’s subsidiary companies start producing electricity. At current, Chilime Hydropower is developing 4 hydropower projects with the total capacity of 270.3 Megawatts: Upper and Lower Sanjen, Rasuwagadhi and Madhya Bhotekoshi.
Chilime currently produces 22.1 MW electricity and is located in Rasuwa district. The annual energy generation from the plant Chilime Hydropower is about 150 GWh.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) holds 51 percent shares of Chilime Hydropower while the general public possess 49 percent shares including 10 percent of local people.
