Construction Of Civil Structure Of Upper Dordi ‘A’ Dam Area Competed

The headworks civil structure of the 25 MW Upper Dordi ‘A’ Hydropower Project under construction at Dordikhola in Lamjung has been completed. The construction work of the structure under the dam area has been completed as soon as the construction work of the project under construction by Liberty Energy Company Limited has reached the final stage.

The project has stated that works including powerhouse and electromechanical are being carried out along with the construction of the dam area amid the lockdown due to the risk of corona virus infection.

The administration has banned the transportation of construction materials since Thursday despite working on a 12-point code of conduct in coordination with the local level to ensure smooth construction of the project. A 2,623 meter long tunnel of the project has been constructed. The work of 2,834 meter long penstock pipe has been completed.

The project constructed in Ward No. 6, Dhodeni and Ward No. 7, Phaleni of Dordi Village Municipality will discharge water from the dam constructed at the confluence of Lodo River in the lower boundary to the power house constructed in Malebagar.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed between the promoter Liberty and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for two Pelton turbines with a capacity of 12.5 MW at a cost of Rs 8.40 paisa in winter and Rs 4.80 paisa in rainy season.

The electricity generated from the project will be connected to the substation of 132 KV double circuit being constructed by Nepal Electricity Authority in Kirtipur. The project, built on run-of-river technology, will cost more than Rs 4.63 billion. The project will generate 138.41 million units of electricity annually.
