Contibution Of Bagmati Province In National GDP To Be 36.9 Percent In FY 2078/79

In the current fiscal year, the share of Bagmati State is estimated to be more than one third of the national annual GDP. According to a study conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) for the fiscal year 2078/79, the share of Bagmati in the GDP is estimated to be 36.9 percent. Last year, Bagmati had accounted for 36.7 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) at the national level.

CBS has projected that the national annual gross domestic product (GDP) will be around Rs. 48.52 Kharba in the current fiscal year. The gross domestic product (GDP) of Bagmati is estimated to be around Rs. 17.91 Kharba.

Similarly, the lowest contribution in national GDP will be from Karnali Province. Karnali will account for 4.1 percent of GDP. The GDP of Karnali is expected to be Rs. 1.98 Kharba.

After Bagmati in the current fiscal year, the provinces that contribute more to the GDP are Province 1, Lumbini, Madhes, Gandaki and Sudhurpaschim Province respectively. 

The growth rate of national GDP is projected to be 5.8 percent. Bagmati is expected to have the highest economic growth rate of 6.7 percent and Madhes the lowest at 4.8 percent.
