Earnings Per Share (EPS) is one of the important indicators while analyzing the profitability of the company. Higher EPS is preferable to the investors as it will translate into higher dividends. Hence, investors value companies with greater EPS and provide higher share prices to those companies.

Earnings Per Share (EPS) is calculated by dividing the net profit of the company by its total number of shares. Here, we have calculated the EPS of non-life (general) insurance companies in Nepal.
Note: The Earnings Per Share (EPS) of non-life (general) insurance companies is based on the unaudited fourth-quarterly report of the fiscal year 2079/80. After the audit, the numbers may vary.
Earnings Per Share (EPS) Of Non-Life Insurance Companies In Nepal [FY 2079/80]
Among the 14 non-life insurance companies in Nepal, the state-owned Rastriya Beema Company has the highest earnings per share (EPS) of Rs. 289.76. Nepal Insurance is second to Rastriya Beema Company in terms of EPS with Rs 34.46. Similarly, Neco Insurance has Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs 27.49. On the other hand, IGI Prudential Insurance has the lowest EPS of Rs 8.62.

Since, Himalayan General Insurance and Everest Insurance have successfully merged to form ‘Himalayan Everest Insurance Company’ we have added the net profit of the these two companies from their respective quarterly report. Hence, it may not be accurate.
National Insurance and Oriental Insurance are the branches of foreign insurance companies. Since they have no capital, the per-share earnings couldn’t be computed.
