Facebook has been linked to many scandals in the past two years and due to this, they have been receiving various threatening comments on social media and websites.
In order to track such threatening statements against the company, Facebook maintains the list of those individuals which is known as a BOLO list and this list is updated on a weekly basis.
Facebook keeps tracks of those individuals who pose threat to their offices, executives, and employees by keeping track of these individuals as the company’s security team are capable of monitoring the activities of these individuals. They use the location data which is accessed through Facebook apps and websites.
This was revealed by former Facebook security employees, with many questioning the ethics of the company’s practices. The company has been using its own products to track the threatening users and maintain the database through the BOLO list.
The Facebook spokesman in a statement said that “Our physical security team exists to keep Facebook employees safe.” Facebook claims to have 2.7 billion users across its services and a small portion of threat also makes a large number of individuals to deal with.
