Fare Of Public Transport Decreases

The government has decreased the fares of public and freight transport to be effective from Jestha 3, 2080 BS.

The Department of Transport Management has reduced the fare of public transport with the fall in fuel prices. The fare of public transport is adjusted according to the automated system when the fuel prices rise or fall by more than 5 percent.

The fare of transport has declined by 3.2 percent to 4.65 percent.

The fare of public passenger vehicles operating from one state to another has been decreased by 3.2 percent. Similarly, the government has decreased the fare of freight vehicles operating on hilly roads by 4.19 percent and freight vehicles operating in the Terai by 4.65 percent.

The government has said that the fare has been adjusted as the price of petroleum products has decreased. At present, petrol is priced at Rs 175 per liter and diesel at Rs 155 per liter.
