Huawei has prepared its own operating system for smartphones and computers in order to avoid a loss in case the company is blocked from using software from Microsoft and Google which are both the US Company. As of now, the Chinese telecom giant uses Android for its mobile handsets and Windows for is laptops and tablets.

The CEO of the company Mr. Richard Yu revealed this in an interview stating that the company had a back-up operating system if, for some reason, it was blocked from using American-made software. Huawei’s spokesperson further elaborated that this plan would only come into effect in extenuating circumstances and the company is happy to use its current operating system from Google and Microsoft.

The company will face problems outside China if it is blocked from using Google’s Android although this will not affect Huawei’s market in China where Google services and its play store is blocked. The tension between the US and the Chinese company has worsened after the former has alleged the latter networking equipment’s having a backdoor that can be used by the Chinese government for surveillance. Also, Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou is facing extradition to the US after he was arrested in Canada last December for fraud charges.
