India Bans 43 Mobile Apps

India has banned 43 mobile apps on Tuesday. Among the banned apps are also of China that continue to have border disputes. The Indian Ministry of Information Technology has said that the banned apps have challenged India’s sovereignty and integrity.

The banned apps include four related to the Chinese multinational company Alibaba Group. India banned a few months ago some Chinese-owned mobile apps, including the popular video-sharing app Tiktok and mobile game PubG. The Indian government has accused Chinese mobile apps of collecting confidential details of Indian users. China and India have been at dispute over the border issue of Ladakh for months. But tensions continue despite talks at the military and diplomatic levels over border disputes. Details of the issues raised in these talks are not being made public. India’s ruling party has welcomed India’s app ban.
