Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) has reported a net profit of Rs 10 crores until the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2078/79. As per the unaudited quarterly report, the profit has surged by 55.76 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. In the same period of the fiscal year 2077/78, MLBSL had earned Rs 6.42 crores in net profit.
The rise in profit is mainly due to the increase in net interest income by 28 percent as well as write-back of provision for possible losses that amount to Rs 11.70 crores.
However, the operating profit of the microfinance has plunged by 48 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This is due to the provision of Rs. 12.17 crores for possible loan losses.
With the increase in profit, the annualized earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs 90.42 while the per-share networth is at Rs 269.55.
