Manakamana Cable Car To Resume Operation From Sunday

Manakamana cable car, which has been closed for five months due to Covid-19 infection, will resume operations on Sunday. The cable car has been closed since Baisakh 16, 2078 BS.
The company has stated that it has incurred a loss of more than Rs 10 crores since the closure of the cable car. One hundred and fifty employees are employed in the cable car alone.
The cable car is an easy way for the locals of Manakamana area to come and go. Locals were pressuring the company to operate the cable car saying that the unpaved road was damaged due to the rains and it was difficult to get there.
Devotees and locals use cable cars to visit the Manakamana temple. The cable car connecting Kurintar of Prithvi Highway and Manakamana of Gorkha came into operation from Mangsir 2055 BS.
