Microsoft surpasses expectations in fourth quarter report

Tech giant Microsoft has reported better earnings and revenue for the fourth quarter that ended on June 30, 2019. As per the report,  EPS of the company stands at $1.37 per share while the company generated revenue of  $33.72 billion. The company has been able to achieve the double-digit annualized revenue growth of 12 percent in the last nine consecutive quarters.
The company has surpassed the expectation of analysts who estimated EPS of $1.12 per share and revenue of $32.77 billion. After the release of the report, the stock price of Microsoft rose by 2 percent on Thursday. The company has performed very well in the stock market this year.
The company shares gained more than 30 percent this year as it went past $1 trillion valuations.  The intelligent cloud business portion has helped the company to bolster its revenue. This segment produced $11.39 billion in revenue this quarter.
