The government has launched a ‘Nagarik’ app to provide all kinds of services and government documents through mobile app and to view all its details.

On Friday, Minister for Communications and Information, Parbat Gurung unveiled the app. He stated that it was easy and secure as all government services were being provided through digital platforms.

Launched as a trial, one can get PAN card through this app. You can also view the details of taxes paid to the government, statements of citizen investment fund, provident fund and social security fund.

The hassle of carrying government documents has been removed as citizenship, passport, educational certificate and voter identity card are digitally stored in the app.

Nagarik app, which has been launched as a trial, will be completed by 2077 BS. Along the way, land tax, land reform, vehicle tax, driver’s license and other facilities will be added to the app.

The app contains the details of 2.15 crore citizens with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the fingerprints, photos and personal details of 1.55 crore voters in the Election Commission.

You can start your account by downloading the ‘Nagarik’ app from your phone. The facility can be availed by logging into the app from the mobile number registered in one’s name and choosing one of the options of citizenship, voter identity card or passport and filling in the details. For security, an OTP verification code is sent to a mobile number registered in one’s own name.
