Nepal Bank (NBL) has reported a decent performance in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2077/78. The bank which earned Rs. 58 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year generated a profit of Rs. 55 crores in the first quarter of this year.
The decline in profit is mainly due to increase in the tax payment by almost Rs 13 crores in current fiscal year.
Nepal Bank has reported an increase in operating profit by 28 percent to Rs 77.89 crores. In the previous fiscal year, such profit stood at Rs 61 crores until the first quarter.

As of Ashwin end 2077, the bank has a paid-up capital of Rs 11.28 Arba. Likewise, the reserve and surplus stand at Rs 19.57 Arba. Nepal Bank has collected Rs 145.47 Arba as deposits from customers. Similarly, it has floated Rs 107.05 Arba as loans and advances to customers.
The Annualized Earnings per Share (EPS) stands at Rs 19.51 while the per share net-worth is Rs 273.49. The base rate has fallen to 6.81 percent. However, the Non-Performing Loans (NPL) has slightly increased to 3.02 percent.
