Nepal Investment Bank Posts Rs 1.59 Arba In Profit In Q2

Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has reported a decline in net profit in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2077/78. The bank has earned Rs. 1.57 Arba in net profit, which is almost 5 percent lower than the corresponding period of the previous year. In the first six months of the fiscal year 2076/77, the bank had earned Rs. 1.67 Arba in net profit.

The decline in net profit is mainly due to the fall in the net interest income, fees, commission, and trading income. The net interest income has declined to Rs. 2.98 Arba from Rs. 3.06 Arba of the same period in the previous year. Likewise, the fees, commission, and trading income has declined by more than Rs 30 crores in aggregate.

As of Poush end, 2077 BS, Nepal Investment Bank has a paid-up capital of Rs. 14.25 Arba [bonus share from FY 2076/77 not adjusted]. Likewise, the total reserves and surplus stand at Rs. 15.3 Arba.

Note: Reserve and Surplus include Share premium, retained earnings, and general reserve. 

Nepal Investment Bank has collected Rs. 166.35 Arba as deposits from customers, while the total loans floated to customers, stood at Rs. 138.02 Arba.

The Annualized Earnings per share (EPS) is at Rs. 19.71 [EPS is calculated by adjusting the bonus share from FY 2076/77]. Likewise, the net worth per share stands at Rs. 207.39.
