Nepal Rastra Bank to sell 17,29,989.50 shares of NEPSE through auction

Nepal Rastra Bank is selling its shareholdings of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) through the auction from today (Ashad 31, 2076). The central bank is trying to sell 17,29,989.50 units of share of Nepse. The auction will remain open until Bhadra 2, 2076.

The central bank is trying to sell the shares at a premium over the par value of Rs. 100. The minimum price for the auction is Rs. 1,032 per share.

The investors eligible to participate in the auction are:

—Banks

—Financial Institutions

—Securities Dealer

—Listed Companies

***General public cannot participate in the auction

Nepal Stock Exchange is a government-owned and only stock exchange of Nepal. The major shareholders in Nepse include:

—Nepal Government: 58.66 percent

—Nepal Rastra Bank: 34.60 percent

—NIDC/Rastriya Banijya Bank: 6.12 percent

—Brokers: 0.62 percent
