A telecommunication service provider is not allowed to issue more than two SIM cards in the name of the same person. The board meeting of Nepal Telecommunication Authority has taken a decision in this regard on Sunday.

NTA will demand and discuss with the service providers about the number of customers who have taken two or more SIM cards.

In the case of Nepal Telecom, three SIMs will be issued in the name of the same person. Two SIMs will be issued for GSM service and one more SIM for CDM service.

As banking transactions will be done on the basis of SIM card, for the security of the consumers, it has been instructed not to issue multiple SIMs in the name of one person.
