Trading Or Mining Of Cryptocurrency Punishable In Nepal

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has warned not to trade any type of cryptocurrency in Nepal. The central bank has published a notice stating that the use and mining of any type of cryptocurrency in Nepal is completely illegal. 

As per the authority given by the Foreign Exchange (Regulating) Act, 2019, it has been clarified not to do any illegal business on cryptocurrency. 

A statement issued by the central bank states “Nowadays, it has been found that people have been encouraged to engage in cryptocurrency trading, mining and other activities, and since it is seen that the general public has been deceived or can be deceived by such activities, it will be punished according to the prevailing law.”
