Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has allowed US firms to sell its products by providing access to its business-to-business (B2B) platform. Alibaba has made this decision in order to compete with the leading e-commerce giant like Amazon. Previously, Alibaba was mainly focused on the Chinese market.

Alibaba has added a new tool that includes an online payment system. US sellers can now use the oldest platform Alibaba.com to sell their products in the global market. The company boasts to have 10 million active buyers around the globe.

On Tuesday, Alibaba.com said US produce firm Robinson Fresh would be joining the platform on 23 July.

Previously, US businesses mainly bought from Chinese sellers on the Alibaba.com platform, which provides service to small and medium-sized firms.
