Xiaomi Overtakes Apple To Take Second Place In Smartphone Market

In the second quarter of 2021, Smartphone shipments grew 12 percent worldwide according to Canalys, a technology market analyst. Simiarly, Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has overtaken American techo-giant Apple.
Korean Technology Brand Samsung dominates the gloabl smartphone market with number one position. Samsung has a 19 percent share of the global market. Likewise, Xiaomi has a market share of 17 percent, Apple 14 percent, Oppo 10 percent and Vivo 10 percent, according to Canalys.
Xiaomi has reported an 83 percent growth in its sales while the other companies have annual market growth of 1 percent to 28 percent. The lowest annual market growth is one percent of Apple. Samsung has 15 percent annual growth, Vivo 27 percent and Oppo 28 percent, according to Canalys.
