YouTube Becomes The World’s First App To Reach 10 Billion Downloads

Video streaming platform YouTube has become the world’s first app to reach the 10 billion downloads. YouTube currently operates as a subsidiary of Google. In November 2006, Google bought it for 1.65 billion. YouTube currently operates as a subsidiary of Google.

However, the figure of 10 billion downloads is only for the Google Play Store. If the data of download from the Apple App Store is included, this number is sure to increase.

According to the 9to5Google report, this popular app is the most downloaded and used app in the world. Due to the Corona epidemic, the number of users creating and viewing content on YouTube has increased significantly. 

YouTube allows users to add to existing content, view, rate, share, make complaints, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users.

YouTube comes pre-installed on almost all Android phones. It is available for download not only in Google Play Store but also in Apple’s App Store. Apple does not disclose the download number of the app. But in the Google Play Store, the YouTube app has been downloaded by more than 10 billion users.

The most downloaded app after YouTube is Facebook, which has more than 6 billion downloads. Similarly, Facebook Messenger has been downloaded more than 5 billion and Instagram more than 3 billion. 

Google has also introduced a feature on Android mobile to see which apps users have used and how much time they have spent.
