Capacity Utilization Of Industries In Lumbini Province At 42.33 Percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Lumbini province is at 42.33 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2079/80.

According to a provincial study report of NRB, the capacity utilization of the industries has decreased by almost seven percent in the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year 2078/79, the capacity utilization of industries in Lumbini province stood at 49.22 percent during the same period.

The capacity utilization of plastic related goods producing industries is highest at 89.64 percent. On the other hand, the dry syrup producing industries have the  lowest capacity utilization of 3.91 percent.

Similarly, the capacity utilization of industries producing alumunium, concrete, rice, beverage, GI pipe, medicine, and electrical wires and cables has decreased while the production of Rosin has inclined.

As per the Central Bureau Of Statistics, Lumibini Province is expected to contribute 14.2 percent in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal year.

Until the Poush end of 2079 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 126.03 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Lumbini province. This is 6.09 percent higher as compared to the same period of the previous year.

Of the total credit, Rupandehi District has the highest industrial credit flow of 58.92 percent while Rukum East has the lowest credit from BFIs that account to 0.03 percent.
