Nepalese Going For Foreign Employment Sharply Rises By 94 Percent

In the first three months of the current fiscal year, about 1,96,075 youths have taken work permits to go for foreign employment. This is almost 94 percent higher than the same period of the previous year. In the three months of the previous fiscal year, about 1,01,000 people had taken labor permits.
According to Department of Foreign Employment, about 63,039 people took labor permits in Shrawan, 76,403 in Bhadra and 56,633 in Ashwin.
The number of people going for foreign employment has increased significantly due to the increase in demand for Nepali workers in Malaysia and Qatar.
Foreign employment, which is the main source of income for Nepal, had decreased in the past 2 years, but is expected to accelerate in the coming days.
