The growth of smartphones is slowing down globally but the smartphone has been a kind of basic requirement to the users around the world. It is very hard to imagine the world without a smartphone in the present context. People are spending most of their times on smartphone and apps around the world.
Now, reports have emerged that users spent around three hours a day on average on their mobile phones last year. This means that they occupied 1 and half month time on smartphone use in 2018.
Also, around 194 billion mobile apps were downloaded in 2018. China topped the list and accounted for almost half of total apps downloaded in the year. The stats are still fascinating despite slowing smartphone sales in China.
Considering paid purchases, in-app downloads and subscriptions in 2018, users spent a total of $101 billion and 40% of this consumption was made by the users in China. Users were attracted mostly to purchases in mobile gaming. We Chat pay generated good purchase in China last year.
Leading the share among 300 tech companies globally, Chinese companies were able to generate $19.6 billion in revenue through consumer spending last year which is 10 percent more as compared to top American firms.
In Asian countries like India and Indonesia, still, people are not willing to pay for apps available in the app store as compared to Chinese users.
