Citizens returning from abroad will not be able to insure Corona for 30 days. Beema Samiti, the regulatory body, issued a notice on Friday instructing all non-life insurance companies not to issue corona insurance within 30 days of returning from abroad.

Executive Director of the Insurance Board, Rajuraman Poudel, said that they have instructed not to insure until 30 days as most of the infected people have returned from abroad. According to him, citizens returning from abroad will have to stay in quarantine for 15 days and 15 more days in their houses. Thus, corona can be insured only if no symptoms of corona are seen for 30 days.

According to the new law, corona insurance forms must now be filled out. The board has stated that a new arrangement has been implemented to bring this insurance under the scope of underwriting. Similarly, not only those who have returned from abroad but also their family members must have a negative RDT test to insure against corona.

Corona Insurance, which started about a month ago, has coverage of almost one lakh people.
