NIC Asia Laghubitta Reports 99 Percent Drop in Net Profit [Q2 Report]

NIC Asia Laghubitta Bittiya Santha Limited (NICLBSL) has reported a 99 percent fall in net profit in the second quarter of the current fiscal year 2080/81 as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The microfinance earned a profit of Rs. 11 lakhs in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Until the second quarter of the previous fiscal year, the net profit stood at Rs. 14.92 crores.
The drop in profit is mainly due to fall in net interest income by almost 27 percent. The company earned Rs. 39.93 crores as net interest income, down from Rs. 54.76 crores of the same period last year.
As of Poush’s end 2080 BS, NIC Asia Laghubitta has a paid-up capital of Rs. 173.94 crores. Likewise, the company has a total reserve and surplus of Rs. 106.39 crores.
The microfinance has floated the loans of Rs. 16.55 Arba.
