The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has set a deposit of Rs 2,100 for all brands of gas cylinders. Earlier, the industry had been setting its own security deposit amount. As a result of unhealthy competition, dealers hid many gas cylinders and insisted on selling more profitable cylinders.

The association has made a decision that consumers will have to pay only Rs 2,100 for a new cylinder from Monday.
Similarly, the association has also requested to keep the bill for the purchase of new cylinders. After such a decision, now consumers have to pay the same amount when buying gas with cylinders of any company. At present, the price of gas is Rs 1,375 per cylinder. Therefore, any consumer who buys a new cylinder of any brand including gas will have to pay Rs 3,475.

It has also been decided to provide handling cost of Rs 100 per cylinder to dealers while selling new cylinders including gas. Dealers have been getting a commission of Rs 32 per cylinder when they sell full cylinders to consumers who bring empty cylinders.
