Annapurna Cable Car To Come Into Operation From Falgun 6

The cable car, constructed by Annapurna Cable Car Pvt. Ltd, from Sedibagar near Fewa Lake to Sarangkot will come into operation on Falgun 6, 2078 BS [February 18, 2022].

Although there was a plan to operate cable car since the English New Year, it has been delayed due to technical problems. With the operation of cable car, one can reach Sarangkot in 9 minutes, as claimed by the company.

 The lower station of the cable car is 824 meters above sea level while the upper station is 1,465 meters.

The fee for cable car to Sarangkot has also been fixed. It will cost Nepalis Rs 700 per person. Similarly, the ticket fee has been fixed at Rs 800 per person for SAARC nation tourists and $9 for tourists from other countries. Students and the elderly will be given 50 percent discount.

The cable car will operate with 18 coaches, including 17 for people and 1 for luggage. It has the capacity to serve 1,500 people per hour.

The construction of the cable car was delayed due to the Corona crisis. Due to this, the cost of the project has increased to Rs 2 billion, up from the estimated Rs 1 billion.
