Average Capacity Utilization Of Industries In Koshi Province At 40.6 percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Koshi province is at 40.6 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2079/80.

According to a provincial study report of NRB, the capacity utilization of the industries has decreased by 8.3 percent in the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year 2078/79, the average capacity utilization of industries in Koshi province stood at 48.9 percent during the same period.

The capacity utilization of tea producing industries is highest at 85.4 percent. On the other hand, the brick and Vanaspati ghee producing industries have the  lowest capacity utilization of zero and 5.1 percent respectively.

Similarly, the capacity utilization of industries producing bricks, Vanaspati ghee, and Soyabean oil has decreased while the production of sugar has inclined.

As per the Central Bureau Of Statistics, Koshi Province is expected to contribute 15.8 percent in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal year.

Until the Poush end of 2079 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 127 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Koshi province. This is 5.5 percent higher as compared to the end of Ashad, 2079 BS.
