Average Capacity Utilization of Industries in Koshi Province at 41.7 percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Koshi province is at 41.7 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2080/81.

According to a provincial study report of NRB, the capacity utilization of the industries has increased by 0.8 percent in the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year 2079/80, the average capacity utilization of industries in Koshi province was 40.6 percent in the first six months. Likewise, in the fiscal year 2078/79, the capacity utilization stood at 48.9 percent during the same period.

The capacity utilization of footwear producing industries is highest at 78.8 percent. On the other hand, the brick and Vanaspati ghee producing industries have the  lowest capacity utilization of 8.1 and 5.9 percent respectively.

Similarly, the capacity utilization of industries producing bricks, tiles, animal feed, GI wire, footwear etc. increased while the production of soyabean oil, homemade metals, garments, cements, etc. has declined.

As per the Central Bureau Of Statistics, Koshi Province is expected to contribute 15.84 percent in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal year.

Until the Poush end of 2080 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 129.83 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Koshi province. This is 0.5 percent higher as compared to the end of Ashad, 2080 BS.
