The inquiry committee has suggested taking action against Bhishma Raj Dhungana, chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The committee submitted its report to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma on Tuesday.

An inquiry committee formed under the convener of former high court judge Anantraj Dumre has suggested the dismissal of Chairman Dhungana for engaging in share trading against the dignity of the post and for working against the development of the capital market.

Dhungana was alleged of buying the shares of the Sarbottam cement in the name of a relative. It was found that the 11,912 shares of Sarbottam cement were bought in the name of Rebecca, daughter of Dhungana.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government would take the necessary decision after studying the report. The findings and recommendations of the study report would help in organizing and tightening the securities trading and protecting the interests of all investors in the capital market.
