IMF report shows China to grow below 6 percent in 2020

International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected the Chinese economy to grow by 5.8 percent in 2020.

In the World Economic Outlook report, the IMF made a forecast about the Chinese economy. The growth rate of 5.8 percent is slower than the forecast of 6.1 percent for 2019.

The slowdown in the Chinese economy is in contrast to the optimistic forecast for the world economy. The world economy is expected to grow at 3.4 percent in 2020, up from a forecast of 3 percent in 2019.

China has already reported that its economic growth rate stood at 6 percent in the third quarter of 2019. This is the lowest growth rate in almost the last 3 decades.
