Janardan Sharma Appointed As Finance Minister

Janardan Sharma of CPN-Maoist (Kendra) has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance in the government formed under the leadership of Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba. Sharma has already taken oath of office and secrecy at the President’s residence on Tuesday evening.

He has been given the leadership of the Ministry of Finance as per the agreement reached between the ruling Nepali Congress and the ruling coalition partner CPN-Maoist (Kendra).

Sharma, who previously held the ministry of home and ministry of energy, is known within the party as an outspoken leader. He played an important role in eliminating a decade-long load shedding in Nepal.
