Prime Life Insurance (PLIC) Earns Rs 29.86 Crores In FY 2076/77

Prime Life Insurance, which published the fourth-quarter report of fiscal year 2076/77, has shown decent performance growth. The life insurance company has earned a net profit of Rs. 29.86 crores. This is almost 4.6 percent lower than the previous year. In the fiscal year 2075/76, the insurance had earned a net profit of Rs. 31.31 crores as per the unaudited report.

The net premium has grown by almost 13.59 percent. Prime Life Insurance has collected a net premium of Rs. 3.26 Arba until the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2076/77. However, the net claim of the company has also increased by almost 64.5 percent during this period. The net claim stands at Rs. 65.32 crores, up from Rs. 39.69 crores in the previous year.

The paid-up capital is Rs. 2.26 Arba. The company has met the minimum capital requirement of Rs. 2 Arba. Likewise, the reserve stands at Rs. 89 crores, down by 28.80 percent from Rs. 1.25 Arba in the previous year. The life assurance fund is Rs. 11.48 Arba, which is 28.84 percent higher than the last year. Also, until the fourth quarter, Prime Life insurance has total investments (long term+ short term) of Rs. 14.43 Arba.

Prime Life Insurance has an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs. 13.22 while the per share net worth is Rs. 145.56. At the end of Ashad, 2077 the share traded at a price of Rs. 531. This gives the stock a p/e ratio of 40.17 which indicates the share of PLIC is relatively overpriced.
