Sector-Wise Budget Allocation For Fiscal Year 2080/81

The government has announced a budget of Rs 1.75 trillion for the next fiscal year 2080/81. Out of the total budget, Rs 1.14 trillion (65.20 percent) is allocated for current expenditure, Rs 302 billion (17.25 percent) for capital expenditure, and Rs 307 billion (17.55 percent) for financial management.

This budget is 2.37 percent lower than the budget of the current financial year and 16.37 percent higher than the revised estimate.

For the next fiscal year, the Ministry of Home Affairs will receive the highest budget allocation of Rs. 194 billion. Likewise, the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has been allocated the lowest budget of Rs. 775.6 million.

The Ministry of Finance has been allocated Rs 47.27 billion, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supply will receive Rs 9.45 billion, and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation is allocated Rs 87.45 billion.

Similarly, the Ministry of Defense is allocated Rs 58.84 billion, the Ministry of Urban Development will receive Rs 66.17 billion, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is allocated Rs 197 billion, and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology will get Rs 8.74 billion. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is allocated Rs 9.96 billion, the Ministry of Health and Population will receive Rs 83.99 billion, and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security is allocated Rs 8.08 billion.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development will receive Rs 58.98 billion, the Ministry of Water Supply will get Rs 28.15 billion, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation is allocated Rs 11.96 billion, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will receive Rs 6.02 billion.

For the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Rs 15.55 billion is allocated, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation will receive Rs 7.24 billion, and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is allocated Rs 134 billion. The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens will receive Rs 1.57 billion, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports is allocated Rs 2.87 billion.
