Ankhu Khola Jalbidhyut Company To Invest 60 Percent Equity In 20 MW Ankhu Khola-2 Hydroelectric Project

Ankhu Khola Jalbidhyut Company Limited has informed about the investment in Ankhu Khola-2 Hydroelectric Project.

The company’s board of directors’ meeting held on Chaitra 23, 2079 BS has decided to invest a minimum of 60  percent equity in the project. For this purpose, an agreement was signed between the company and Ganesh Himal Hydropower, the developer of the project, on Chaitra 24, 2079 BS.

Ankhu Khola-2 Hydroelectric Project is a Run of River (ROR) type project with an installed capacity of 20 MW. The project will be located in Dhading district. The project will produce 122.16 GWh of electricity annually. The generated energy will connected to the national grid through a 5 km transmission line through the Nepal Electricity Authority’s proposed Lapang substation.

Ankhu Khola Jalbidhyut Company Limited is currently operating an 8.4 MW Ankhu Khola-1 Hydroelectric Project in Dhading District. The project commenced electricity production on August 2013.
