Lonely Planet has placed Nepal’s Annapurna Circuit Trek in the tenth place among the important, attractive and adventurous must visit destinations in the world. The trek to Annapurna region of Nepal is very exciting including Nepal’s golden temples, hilly villages and wildlife observation, said Lonely Planet.

Lonely Planet has also mentioned that the snow-covered Thorangla Bhanjyang can be crossed by climbing the Annapurna Circuit. According to Lonely Planet, the trek is exciting as you can see the surrounding villages including Tilicho Lake in the highlands.

Annapurna Circuit is considered as an adventurous footpath. This footpath falls within the protected area of Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Trekkers on this path can start their trek from Lamjung headquarters Beshishahar, pass through Manang, cross the 5416 meter high Thorangla Bhanjyang and reach Mustang.

The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) was established in 1986. However, it had only officially started keeping statistics of foreign tourists visiting the Annapurna region since 1992. In the year 2019, 181,000 foreign visitors had visited the Annapurna region. According to tourism entrepreneurs, about 20,000 foreign tourists complete the trek every year.

The Annapurna Circuit is a 21-day trek. As the highway is getting shorter, the trek has now shrunk to one week. The duration of the trek has also been shortened as motor vehicles have reached Upper Manang easily.
