Bandipur Cable Car to Come into Operation by Baisakh

Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Limited is conducting tests on the cable car currently under construction in Bandipur, a popular tourist destination in Tanahun. The testing phase initially involves eight cabins, with plans to expand to 20 cabins in the coming days. The cable car is anticipated to be fully operational by the Baisakh 1, 2080 BS, pending successful completion of all tests and obtaining the necessary commercial certification.
In addition to the cable car project, a five-star hotel under construction is set to be operational by Mangsir of the following year. Apart from interior work, all preparations for the hotel’s operation have been completed.
With a capacity to transport 500 passengers per hour, the cable car will operate daily from 6 am to 11 pm in different shifts. A unique offering includes the Restro Cabin restaurant and lounge, operational from 5 pm to 11 pm. The cable car project, initiated in Shrawan 2075, is part of a larger plan, which includes a five-star hotel, conference center, view room, box museum, zipline, bungee, skywalk, and restaurant cabin.
Investment in cable cars, particularly those associated with five-star hotels, has increased to Rs. 2.60 billion. The cable car’s capacity has risen from 300 passengers per hour to 500, while the hotel’s room count has increased from 66 to 87. The hotel, spanning ten stories, will feature a modern viewing column, banquet hall, and 80 standard rooms.
The cable car route, starting from Bandipur-4, Thuldhunga and ending at Baralthok in the same ward, offers scenic views, including Siddha Cave in Bimalnagar, claimed to be the largest in Asia. The cable car, spanning 1.6 kilometers, is set to reach the height of Bandipur through the side of Siddha Cave.
