IPO stands for Initial Public Offering. When a company issues the shares to the investors for the first time, it is known as IPO. After the IPO, the shares of the company are listed on the stock exchange. Investors can trade those shares in the secondary market. Initial Public Offering (IPO) helps the companies to raise new equity capital. Likewise, it enables the general public to participate in the ownership of the company for the first time.
At current, 37 companies in Nepal are in the process of issuing the Initial Public Offering (IPO). Some of them have received the permission from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while other have submitted the application to the board for the IPO issuance.
