Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) Reports Fall In Profit By 28% In Third Quarter

Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) has reported the decline in net profit by 27.50 percent until the third quarter of this fiscal year 2076/77. The bank earned a net profit of Rs. 87 crores in the nine months period. Last year, BOK had earned Rs. 1.20 Arba in net profit during the same period.
The net profit has tumbled despite the increase in the net interest income by 5 percent. Bank of Kathmandu earned Rs. 2.88 Arba as the net interest income in the nine months. The fall in profit is mainly due to the huge increase in provision for loan that amounts to Rs 80.66 crores which stood at Rs 24.95 crores in the previous year. Due to this, the operating profit of the bank has plunged by 27.50 percent to 1.24 Arba.
