Capacity Utilization Of Industries In Karnali Province At 51.88 Percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Karnali province is at 51.88 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2079/80.

According to a provincial study report of NRB, the capacity utilization of processed GI pipe producing industries is highest at 67.50 percent. On the other hand, the GI wire producing industries have the  lowest capacity utilization of 22.35 percent.

Similarly, the capacity utilization of industries producing processed milk, wheat flour, wood, rice and plastic products stood at 66.67 percent, 66.67 percent, 50 percent, 50 percent and 40 percent respectively.

As per economic survey 2078/79, 3,526 companies have been registered in Karnali Province which is lowest among the seven province.

Until the Poush end of 2079 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 5.28 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Karnali province. This is 44.04 percent higher as compared to the same period of the previous year.

Of the total credit, Surkhet District has the highest industrial credit flow of 58.79 percent while Dolpa has the lowest credit from BFIs that account to 0.3 percent.

As per the Central Bureau Of Statistics, Karnali Province is expected to contribute 4.1 percent in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal year.
