Capacity Utilization of Industries in Karnali Province at 54.23 Percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Karnali province stood at 54.23 percent in the first six month of the current fiscal year 2080/81.
According to a semi-annual provincial study report of NRB, the capacity utilization of paper and paper related products producing industries is highest at 96.15 percent. On the other hand, the dairy related products manufacturing industries have the lowest capacity utilization of 25.71 percent.
Similarly, the capacity utilization of industries producing processed tea, plastic products, wood and wood related products, and animal feed stood at 76.67 percent, 70 percent, 40 percent, and 36.52 percent respectively.
Until the Poush end of 2081 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 3.30 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Karnali province. This is 37.55 percent lower as compared to the same period of the previous year.
Of the total credit, Surkhet District has the highest industrial credit flow of Rs. 2.42 Arba while Humla has the lowest credit from BFIs that amounts to Rs. 82 lakh only.
As per the Central Bureau Of Statistics, Karnali Province is expected to contribute 4.28 percent in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the current fiscal year.
