Capacity Utilization Of Industries In Sudurpashcim Province At 43 Percent

The capacity utilization of industries in Sudurpaschim province was at 42.93 percent in the last fiscal year 2078/79.
According to a provincial study report of NRB, manufacturing industries related to Bricks, mustard oil, wheat and Sugar have the highest capacity utilization ranging from 45 to 70 percent. On the other hand, industries producing soap, Rosin, Processed Milk, and Rice have lowest capacity utilization in the province.
As per the report, 1,235 people are directly employed in these industries. Out of this, 10 percent are women while 90 percent are men. 33 percent of the workforce are Indian citizens.
Until the Ashad’s end of 2079 BS, banks and financial institutions have floated Rs. 25.68 Arba as loans and advances to the industrial sector of the Sudurpaschim province. This is 4.21 percent lower as compared to the Ashad’s end 2078 BS. Out of the total credit disbursed in the province, 17.17 percent has been floated to the industrial sector.
The report states that the lack of industrial infrastructures, skilled manpower and inefficient supply management remain as major challenges for the development of industrial sector in the province.
