Chilime Hydropower To Develop 45 MW Chumchet Syar Khola Hydroelectric Project In Gorkha

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited is going to construct the 45 MW Chumchet Syar Khola Hydroelectric Project in Gorkha District. The project will be located at Chum Nubri Rural Municipality of Gorkha district.
The company received the survey license of the project on Chaitra 25, 2074 BS. After completing the survey, Chilime Hydropower is seeking the construction license for the project from the Department of Electricity Development.
The department will grant the license based on the survey report and the environmental impact assessment report. The company is making the preparation for the environmental impact assessment study report and has requested opinions/suggestions from the relevant stakeholders regarding the adverse effects that may occur on the environment of the local area during the construction of the project.
The electricity produced by the project will be connected to the substation of Nepal Electricity Authority which will be built at a distance of 7 km through 132 kV transmission line.
Chilime Hydropower is currently operating a 22.1 megawatt Chilime hydropower project in Rasuwa district.
The company has three subsidiary hydropower companies. These include:
1. Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company Limited.
2. Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidhyut Company Limited.
3. Sanjen Jalavidhyut Company Limited.
Through its subsidiary companies, Chilime Hydropower is developing four hydropower projects with an aggregate capacity of 270.3 MW. These projects are in the final stage of construction.
