Dordi 1 Hydropower Project To Generate Electricity Within Baisakh

The construction work of the 12 MW Dordi 1 Hydropower Project is almost 90 percent complete. The project is under construction at Dordikhola in Lamjung. The construction work of the civil structure of the dam area of ​​the project has been completed.

The work of the power house, which is targeted to generate electricity within the current fiscal year, has also reached the final stage. Electromechanical equipment is being connected to the power house. Out of the 700 meters of penstock pipes of the project, 150 meters of pipes are yet to be connected.

The project itself is constructing the required 3.5 km long transmission line to the substation. The electricity generated will be connected to the 132 KV Kirtipur substation to be constructed by Nepal Electricity Authority.

The project has also constructed 15 towers of the transmission line. The project has stated that the construction work of the project has been postponed due to Corona epidemic.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2.29 billion. The project will start the power generation in Baisakh next year. The construction was started from Chaitra, 2074 BS.
