Dordi 1 Hydropower Project In Final Stage Of Construction

The construction work of the 12 MW Dordi 1 Hydropower Project has reached the final stage. About 99 percent work of the project is completed. Dordi Khola Hydropower Company is constructing the project at Dordikhola in Lamjung.
The project has completed the work of connecting penstock pipe, dam, another 715 meter long penstock pipe of the project and civil structure of the power house.
Likewise, the work of 2.5 km main tunnel and civil construction work of the dam area have also been completed.
The construction of the project was started from Chaitra, 2074 BS. The project was targeted to be completed by Chaitra, 2076 BS. However, the deadline was extended several times due to floods in the Dordi River, lockdown due to corona infection and other reasons.
The electricity generated from the project will be connected to the 132 KV Kirtipur substation to be constructed by Nepal Electricity Authority. The project will construct the required 3.5 km long transmission line to the substation.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 2.29 billion.
The project has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at Rs 4.80 paisa during the rainy season and Rs 8.40 paisa during the dry season.
