Dudhpokhari Chepe Hydroelectric Project To Generate 8.83 MW Electricity

A nine-megawatt Dudhpokhari Chepe Hydropower Project is to be constructed on the Chepe River flowing through the border of Lamjung and Gorkha districts. The project is promoted by Dudhpokhari Chepe Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. The company has received the construction license for the project from the Department of Electricity Development (DOED). The department issued the license for construction on Magh 8, 2077 BS. The construction license has validity until Magh 7, 2112 BS.
The powerhouse of the project will be established in Ajirkot village municipality of Gorkha district using the water of the Chepe River. The project will generate a total of 8.83 MW of electricity. The main structure of the project is on the left bank of the Chepe River. The powerhouse of the project is in Talbagar of Chepe river.
A dam of 1.5 km length and 1.54 m height will be constructed for power generation. The river water will be sent to the powerhouse through a 3,119-meter long penstock pipe. Two turbines of 4.7 MW capacity will be connected to the powerhouse. The electricity generated will be connected to the local Kirtipur substation proposed by Nepal Electricity Authority through a 28 km long 33 kV transmission line.
The project aims to generate electricity by Jestha 29, 2080 BS. The project will generate 56.41 gigawatt-hours of energy annually.
