South Korea’s Human Resources Department (HRD) has set a quota of 5,400 people for Nepal in 2021. This is the number for passing the language and skill test as per the Employment Permit System (EPS) branch under the Department of Foreign Employment.

HRD has set a quota of 52,000 foreign workers for 2021. The quota is for 16 different countries in the world.

Those who have passed the Korean language test from Nepal since 2008 have been taken to South Korea through EPS. The Korean government did not conduct the Korean language test in 2020 due to the coronavirus in countries supplying foreign workers.

So far more than 45,000 Nepali youths have gone to South Korea for employment through EPS. Out of this, 40,000 youths are currently working there.
