Government To Hold Local Level Elections On Baisakh 30

The government has decided to hold the local level elections on Baisakh 30, 2078 BS [May 13, 2022] in a single phase.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to hold the local level elections in a single phase, said Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, government’s spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology.
The announcement of the date of the election was being watched with interest as the political parties had different understandings and analysis regarding the constitution and the law regarding the local level election. Earlier, the commission had suggested the government to hold the election in one phase on Jestha 4.
