A five-star hotel called ‘ Hotel Mechi Crown’ has been set up in Mechinagar, Jhapa with an investment of Rs 150 crore. A hotel structure has been constructed in an area of eight bighas in Mechinagar-8 Jorsimal, which is touched by the East-West Highway, targeting tourists from Bangladesh, Bhutan and India.
Pavitra Kumar Karki, chairman of Vegas Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., which operates the hotel, said that the state-of-the-art hotel is needed to enrich the country’s tourism business. This is the first five-star hotel opened in Province 1.
Hotel Mechi Crown, located 17 km from Chandragadhi Airport and 25 km from Bagdogra Airport in India, has already invested Rs 1.5 billion, said Karki. The hotel complex has a casino, helipad, spa, gymhouse, swimming pool, green garden and other facilities.
After the operation of the casino in the hotel, 900 people will get direct employment. The hotel has 105 well-equipped rooms for conferences, seminars, meetings and weddings. Hotel Grand Prince is also preparing to operate a five-star hotel in Birtamod, Jhapa at an investment of Rs 1 Arba.
