Japan To Invest $42 Billion In India

Japan has agreed to invest 42 billion dollars in India in the next five years. The agreement was reached during a summit between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday.

Six agreements on mutual assistance have also been signed between the two countries. Modi and Kishida also discussed the Russia-Ukraine war and China’s growing influence in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan has been increasing its investment in India lately.

Japan is also investing in a project to build a bullet train from Mumbai to the industrial city of Ahmedabad. Japan has completed projects worth 29 billion dollars in India between 2014 to 2019.

The new economic agreement between the two largest economies in the Asia-Pacific region is also expected to contribute to the region’s stability.
